Project Description:
Adolf Loos (1870-1933) designed the Knize men's clothing shop in 1927-1928. The shop featured a red-brick fireplace with inset panel mirror above the hearth. He used both black and white marble slabs flanking the fireplace. The walls were gray, green, and white striped Cipollino marble and the floor was carpeted in black velour. The fabric cabinets were made of mahogany and the cases and suspended lamps were in glass and brass. Aside from two wicker chairs, the furniture was crafted of lacquered cherry red wood.
