Project Description:
Louis Sognot (1892-1970) designed and decorated this interior of the Au Printemps department store on the corner of Boulevard Houssmann and Rue de Provence. At the time, the store would host an annual fair and feature exhibitions on the lower level. The store also had a tea room with chairs designed by Marcel Guillemard in pink and yellow. The room setting fr the Primavera design department was also designed by Sognot with Charlotte Alix and featred nickel-plated stools and white oilcloth upholstery. The table and chairs had nickel-plated tubing and black lacquer. The walls were covered with nickel disc appliques.
