Additional Information:
The house has Portuguese origin but is named after an Italian immigrant, Nicola Nacarello, who was a celebrity in town and worked in the Ferrando stone quarries.
The house is also known at the Pink House due to its colour.
Project Description:
The Nacarello house is preserved as a museum to show how a family would have lived in Uruguay in the 18th century. The furniture items inside are all replicas but they are in the Portuguese-European style of the time and made of wood. The beds are woven with leather. The kitchen is still intact and has pots in it to immerse the visitor in life from centuries ago. It has been preserved to show future generations the history of Uruguay.
