Project Description:
The Pavilion is considered one of the finest modernist buildings in England and was completed in 1935. The architects were Serge Chermayeff and Erich Mendelsohn. The building clearly shows the influence of Bauhaus and unfortunately was allowed to deteriorate very badly. However, a few years ago, it was restored to its former sparkling glory. It is perfectly sited with incredible views of the sea that shimmers through the vast windows as you climb the dramatic stairs.
