Spanish settler Antonio Martínez Sáenz and his wife Petrona Caballero built the home in 1772. Their two sons who inherited the house held secret meetings there that eventually brought on the Paraguayan revolution.
On May 14th, 1811 a group of Paraguayans announced the independence of Paraguay from outside the house.
Today the house is a museum and it has been since May 14th, 1965.
Project Description:
The walls are adobe and the roof and framework is made of bamboo and palm wood. It looks like a traditional Paraguayan home.
