Late 20th century - original Wat Rong Khun temple was in bad state to repair.
1990s - Local artist from Chiang Rai Chalermchai Kosipipat designs and rebuilds the whole temple.
1997 - New temple was completed.
5 May 2014 - Temple was damaged by earthquake in Mae Lao.
7 May 2014 - The buildings were inspected by engineers to determine damage.
8 May 2014 - The temple was reopened to the public.
